Leak detection at the swimming pool of a receptive structure in Cisternino with colored tracers method.

The investigation with dyes is the most suitable solution when the leak source is not immediately identifiable and is ideal for cases of leak detection in swimming pools.

Through the introduction of small quantities of coloring liquids in the points to be inspected, and by observing the behavior of the colored threads, it is in fact possible to accurately determine the origin of the leak.

In the case of the receptive structure in Cisternino, the presence of a leak was signaled by the observation of continuous and regular lowering of the water surface of the swimming pool. The situation was in fact such to request continuous additions of water, resulting in significant economic damage.

In order to identify the precise location of the leak, the inlets, the lights, the pool bottom intake, the skimmers and all the critical points of the joints in the pool were examined with the use of dyes.

The leak detection operations in the pool were performed by a technician immersed in the water and adequately equipped with wetsuit, mask and snorkel.

Thanks to the intervention it was possible to determine in the right skimmer the cause of the pool leakage and were defined the subsequent actions of rehabilitation (relining) to restore the perfect functioning of the pool.

For all investigations was not required any masonry work, thus minimizing any discomfort for the owner of the structure.
