The wellpoint plant is a filtering system designed to temporarily lower the water table and to allow dry excavations in aquiferous soils, in a practical and economical way.
This result is made possible thanks to a set of filtering tips (wellpoints) that, installed in the ground at a deeper depth than the bottom of the excavation, remove water from the subsoil.
The wellpoint system is therefore the most suitable solution for all porosity-permeable soils such as sandy, silty, clay and gravelly soils.
THE WELLPOINT PLANT
The system consists of a set of horizontal manifolds to which a suction pump equipped with a vacuum pump is connected. This pump expels the air due to losses along the system and the air absorbed together with the water during the period of lowering of the water table.
From the horizontal manifolds, flexible couplings connected to the lifting pipes embedded in the ground depart at variable centre distances to the desired depth.
At the end of the lifting pipe is installed the wellpoint for the suction of the water without removing the solid particles of the ground.
The pumps allow the plant to operate continuously for 24 hours a day and for long periods.
